The idea behind Cool Earth is that rainforests are worth much more left standing — both for the planet, and for local communities. The approach is simple: secure land that would otherwise be sold to loggers and ranchers and price deforestation out of the market.
With every Wrapsol purchase, Cool Earth secures threatened rainforest by putting money into local trusts, and helping to protect the rainforest around the clock to keep the carbon where it belongs. They employ local people to do the work, help fund community-based livelihood and/or education services, and develop sustainable approaches to long-term forest viability.
